Once I got the report written I switched books and took up reading The Enneagram once again. This book, on the other hand, I am loving. It's psychology meets spirituality and is actually life giving. I'm still reading the first few chapters, but from my chaplaincy unit I have a good understanding of the subject already. I don't really feel like going into it all right now, but I'm sure you will be hearing more about it as I keep on reading. I'm hoping to have it finished before the end of the summer.

Book day
I had a very relaxing yet productive day today. I finally got around to writing up my book report for my CPE unit (chaplaincy thing) that finished on the 10th of July. It's only a little late. I finished reading the book - Compassion by Henri Nouwen and two other guys - the week after the unit ended, but just never got around to writing up the report. The book itself was a pretty good read, not a whole lot of new ideas, but it reallly complemented what I was experiencing both within my chaplaincy visits as well as within the group of six students that made up the unit. The whole idea surrounds the notion that compassion is to suffer with, or be with, someone - it is shifting the focus from oneself onto another and then make the concerns of another your own. Like I said, not ground breaking stuff, but a really good reminder that it really isn't all about me.

i'm a fan of the enneagram too! It's a bit more complex then the standard personality tests. Also a fan of Henri Nouwen. Keep up the reading!
