An expensive day
Today was a very expensive day. I knew it would be a bit expensive as I had to get the e-testing done on our van, but it turned out to be a bit more than I though.... apparently our van (fondly known as Sappy) was not as healthy as we thought. The emissions was not the problem however, it was fixing the exhaust system first so that the e-test could be done that cost all the money. And because of this little surprise I found myself with three hours of time and stranded with only a Canadian Tire, a Walmart, a Payless Shoes, and a Starbucks for company. Despite all the temptations I bought only one thing (aside from food) and that was a book to bide my time with (and the food gave me a place to read it). I have never heard of Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth before, but it was decently priced and I usually enjoy a good historical fiction so I decided to give it a try. I can't say it's been exactly what I was expecting thus far, but I am only 100 pages into the 973 paged book, so I'll have to wait and see how it goes. Surely it must be half decent though... Opera recommends it!?

I was given that book 2 years ago for Christmas. I have yet to read it. I've read the first 20 pages or so a couple times, but that's usually as far as I get. Not that I don't want to read it, but something better usually gets in the way. Let me know how it goes!
