Busy day...
After a number of very uninteresting and not very inspiring days I finally had a great day today. It began with preaching for a two point charge (the Presbyterian churches in Clinton and then Seaforth) which went reasonably well. The first service as a little bumpier than the second service, but I think I'm getting better. My sermon was based on Acts4:13-22 focusing on the point that we, as Christians, are ordinary people who are called to be Christ's witnesses to our world, and are empowered to do so by the Holy Spirit. I'm not sure how my voice made it through doing two complete services, but I certainly didn't speak much for the rest of the day - most of which was spent watching my brother-in-law's soccer game. It's been about a year since I last saw him play a game, and he's still as good as I remember - even scored one of the two goals for his team, helping them win 2-1. I'm really excited for him as he begins soccer tryouts for Waterloo University tomorrow (a whole week of tryouts before classes start - I still can't believe he's starting university already!!). Can I just say that I really enjoy spending time with family.
