pizza pizza and MORE pizza

Since starting the pizza blog record Josh has taken to cooking 

a lot more frozen pizzas "for the sake of science..."  

He's also been after me to blog more too.... 

So here are the result of our most recent frozen pizza adventures:

"Pizza" 1:  Molinaro's Pizza XL

Hardly deserves the title pizza....   it was the most disappointing pizza I have ever had.  It looked some what bland and tasted like cardboard.  It was only made moderately appetizing when smothered in a creamy ceasar dressing.  I managed to choke down half a slice of leftovers before we fed the rest to the dog.  It was an epic fail.  I have never fed my pizza to the dog before.

Pizza 2: Irresistibles Gusto Italiano - Spicy Salami 

5 out of 5 on taste!  This was a very enjoyable pizza.  Nice thin crust (although despite what the package says I'm pretty sure it was not stone baked as it went straight on the rack in our oven).  Lots of flavourful toppings.  Looked delicious when cooked....

The only problem was we finished eating it all and were still hungry.  But then again, not such a huge problem as we just pulled pizza 3 out of the freezer and started again.

 Pizza 3: Dr. Oetker's Ristorante - Spinach Pizza

 Thanks Katherine for this suggestion!  We loved this one as much as pizza 2!!  I though they were both produced by the same company because they were so similar in size and quality.  Josh had to dig the boxes out of the recycling to prove me wrong!  Again 5/5!

Pizza 4: Irresistibles Gusto Italiano - Margherita 

After enjoying the Spicy Salami so much Josh went out and picked up a few more by Irresistibles for future enjoyment ... yes Josh does most of our grocery shopping as well as cooking... I am a blessed wife!!! Promptly after arriving home, one was popped into the over and even slightly over done it was still a great pizza!  The pesto was an interesting addition to the usual pizza toppings and the cherry tomatoes made for very fancy look.  Again, both Josh and I agree that we would highly recommend this one too.

Conclusions:

1. We eat way too much frozen pizza!!
2. Even though with home made pizza we tend towards thicker crusts, we are enjoying the thin crusts best thus far. 
3. Over all, Dr. Oetker and Irresistibles are our favourite brands from what we've tried until now.
