On Call
So as of 4:30 today I am officially the on call Chaplain for the St. Catharines General Hospital. This means that if anything goes crazy wrong, if any one wants a chaplain to be present as a patient dies, if police need to do a body identification, and many other crazy things happen at the hospital outside of the regular hours (outside of 8:30 am- 4:30pm) it is my responsibility to be there and provide care. I now have a pager firmly attached to my hip and the panic is beginning to set in. Even though I have been doing this chaplaincy thing for 8 weeks now, this takes it to a whole new level. Needless to say I'm praying for the safely of the entire Niagara region for the next week. I'll keep you posted as to how it goes...
