Happy Fathers Day...

So I received my first on-call call last night, and then spent the following three hours with a family as they were with their father, grandfather, father-in-law, pass away. One of the daughters made a comment that it had to be on fathers day and it made me think ... and as I reflect on that comment I imagine that father's day will never be the same again for this family. It makes me think of my grandfather, and then of my own father and of how lucky I am. I think today, father's day has been given a whole new meaning for me because I was able to share with another family in their loss on fathers day.
