Fire Trucks and Neighbours

So I’m home alone yesterday and today while Josh is off helping his father do some work on their cottage because I have a major paper due on Tuesday. This is all fine and dandy until about 9:30 yesterday when a smoke detector went off in the hall (and because it’s a public area they don’t just have buttons to turn them off, and they’re not battery operated so you can’t just pull the battery out either. So on of the guys down the hall and I are trying to get a hold of our land lord, and we’re getting nothing from him… we even called his mothers house trying to find out how to get a hold of him. So while we’re doing that the fire department shows up!! Finally the alarm get shut off. But no sooner after they left, the stupid thing starts going off again. And then again at 12:00 and again around 1:00 and again at 4:00 and again at 5:30 and again at 6:00 and again at 7:00 and again at 9:00 and again at 10:15 and again at 10:45. So I’ve had a lousy night sleep, and I’m supposed to be working on this paper… but the constant intruding beep of the smoke detector is making concentrating extremely difficult. I wish I had of just gone to the cottage, cause I’m not getting much work done here, and I would have had a much better night sleep. At least I had the opportunity to have some bonding time with one of my neighbours.
