It's been a busy month!!
Josh and I started the month with a trip to Ottawa which turned out pretty awesome! We checked out the city and the laser light show on the parliament buildings, did the tour thing through the parliament buildings,
checked out the war museum
and the museum of civilization,
and visited diefenbunker
before heading a little further north to go white water rafting for our first time ever (totally awesome... everyone should go!!) and then crossed briefly into Quebec to try out some zip lines!
What a great way to celebrate our 5th anniversary!!
After spending 5 days in Ottawa we came back and worked for two more days before heading to a camp ground outside of Guelph to hang out with friends and family for a day and then I preached Sunday morning at St. Andrews before heading up to Wasaga for the Lord's family golf tournament. Although due to crummy weather and the disappearance of the golf course no golfing actually took place. Still a nice chance to see family and learn a new card game. The weekend following Josh and I had the pleasure of celebrating Nathan and Sophie's wedding (Nathan is a cousin of Josh's).
That brings us up to this past weekend when Josh and I went to Killarney with Amy and Dave for our first ever Killarney canoe trip. We hiked Killarney last year and enjoyed the scenery immensely but found hiking mountains to be quite a bit of work, hence this year we returned to the beauty but enjoyed from the vantage point of the blue-green water. It was a camping trip with no rain, no bugs, and no sunscreen - over all an enjoyable experience! And Meeka even got to come along and managed not to flip our canoe!!
Tom, Brittney, Tyler, Roy
Stephen, Dan, Susan, Heather, Gary
and with our final weekend of the month bring a long weekend with our last vacation day of the summer, we went to the drive in theater Saturday night (something we haven't done since our first year of marriage) and then headed to the Metro Toronto Zoo on Monday.
All in all, it's been a busy month, but a really fun month too!
