I love my dog...
She's fun, love to play, lots of personality, and is very well behaved.... when we’re home. During the day while we’re off at work we used to leave her in her crate... she didn't seem to mind too much, but our neighbour didn't like the barking. Tried some anti-barking techniques and found leaving her free to roam was the best solution (and truly I like leaving her out much more than stuck in a crate)... everyone's happy... ...well almost. At first it was kind of funny to see what she'd found to get into... bathroom garbage, leftovers sitting on the counter... we finally figured it out and essentially dog proofed the kitchen and keep the bathroom door closed - wonderful!!! BUT now she has broken a ceramic container trying to get at the treasures within... ate my lunch bag trying to get at a granolas bar left inside, ate through my husbands luggage trying to find a hidden granolas bar, ate through my husbands lunch bag trying to get at an empty container that must have smelled good.... I'm not sure what more I'm willing to loose to her powers of destruction. I love my dog, I don't want to have to go back to the crate, but how do you train a dog to not destroy stuff when you're not there to say NO!???
