Lord of the Dance

So once again I'm a little behind in my pictures and my postings... oops...

Last weekend Josh and I ran away for a weekend of fun in Orillia... only to discover that Orillia really isn't all that fun. They have a beautiful waterfront that takes all of 7 minutes to walk across at a really slow pace, with plenty of stops to take pictures of all sorts of things. And that was all there was to do. So after walking away our afternoon on the streets of the downtown (ok we were trying to find the Swiss Chalet we drove by on our way into town, but ended up really lost and went back to our motel to find our van and map). Then finally, the whole reason for our trip, at 9pm we joined about 5000 other people at Casino Rama to watch Lord of the dance. It was amazing. I so wanted to be dancing again as I watched.... I couldn't keep my feet still as I watched.... I haven't missed dancing that much in a long time. I am so happy that Josh suggested going, and that we actually made the decision to go! As there were no cameras allowed at the casino I was not able to take any pictures of that memory, so I've included some of the pictures I took as we walked along the waterfront.

I can't remember who this was, but it was the top part of this bronze carved monument commemorating the White Man meeting the Natives originally living in the land currently know as Orillia. On the north and south side of this monument were bronze carvings representing:

... the introduction of commerce...

...and the introduction of Christianity.

And this was just one of the many fearless squirrels who posed for a picture :)
