Interviews and Christianity

So I had this assignment to interview some people who don't go to church and ask them 5 specific question, the last one of which involved me sharing what I believe the essence of Christianity to be. So I fugured I would share that statement and ask anyone who feels like it to comment if you think it's an appropraite statement, what you apprciate about it, what you find offensive about it and if you can think of a better way of presenting... basically let me know what you thing about it.

In essence, Christianity is a message of love and forgiveness, but mostly love.God created humans to be in relationship with him, and because of his love for us, we were created having free will. In our free will, however, we sinned (disobeyed God), and our relationship with God was broken. The Bible tells the story of God trying, out of his love for us, to restore the broken relationship. And because God is just, someone had to pay for our sin, and God decided to take that task upon himself. And so, God sent his son Jesus to us - in essence, God became human through being born, and lived among us, teaching us how we can be in relationship with God, and revealing God to us. The message Jesus taught was essentially a message of love - love God and love one another. But when we heard his message we crucified him - we crucified Jesus even though he was sinless, yet once again out of his love for us, he took on all our sin (the sin that was in the past, the sin of that day, and all the sin that would ever occur) so that we could be forgiven and through Jesus our relationship with God could be restored. But it doesn't end there. Three days after dying on a cross, Jesus rose from the dead, and conquered death. Jesus also sent the spirit of God to live in those who acknowledge Jesus as Christ, to help us live according to God's will, while Jesus now sits at the right hand of God his father in heaven waiting to return to bring his children home, and interceding for us. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."
And we respond to having experienced the love and forgiveness of God by sharing that love with others.
so ya. I think that's what the essence of Christianity is.... I'm not so sure Christians (myself included) always live in a way that reflects this, but I think it's the truth none the less, and wish my life did reflect this truth always.
