Day six in Iceland was a driving day. We decided to take the long scenic route to our next night's stop, which included driving around a bunch of the Eastern Fjords rather than taking the tunnels through the mountains. No real big stops along the way, just driving and enjoying the scenery. Here's some of what we saw along the way:
Along the last stretch (through the mountains) we were warned that it might be snowing... we laughed when we heard it cause it has been a really nice day as we'd driven along. However, snow it did!!! It was the weirdest sensation at times when all you could see was white and the road ahead of you (sort of). There were definitely times we had no idea what was on either side of the road... it was all just white. Lucky for us once we cleared the pass, the snow let up a little and most of it had melted by the next morning.
