It has been a busy few weeks for me and my spiritual care practices. Last week was spiritual care awareness week, which meant reading up on my dialysis discontinuation research such that I could present my research poster in the hospital lobby and actually look like I know something about the subject. But it also meant attending another CASCSWONT (that's fancy for the old CAPPE networking day for my region). I was quite surprised by how much I was looking forward to going again and seeing all the people in my region of the Canadian Association of Spiritual Care and being able to play catch up and meet new chaplains. It really was a fun day. I even managed to come home as a new CASCSWONT executive member (secretary).
I'm pretty excited about the role to be honest. It doesn't sound like it will involve too much of my time, however it sounds like a great way to be connected with all that is going on and changing in the world of Spiritual Care. I'll have to keep you posted as to whether this really is as exciting a development as I hope it will be.
On another front, I've also been keeping busy trying to get my research project off the ground and running. I would certainly say that it is off the ground, but just barely... I'm a long way off running just yet, but momentum is building. I've receive approval from one research ethics board and am just about ready to submit to the next board. I've been running around trying to get all the required signatures and I've only got 3 or four to go! I can't wait to submit it so I can run with it!
