It has been way too long since my last post, and every time I think about posting again I think, "but I should really put those pictures up, and talk about that, and share that story....." and then I feel so overwhelmed I decided to put it off to later. So rather than try to recap my summer and post all the pictures from all the fun things I did over the summer, I'm just going to admit that I took the summer off blogging and try to get back into my blogging routine as I try to re-establish all the other routines in my life.
This fall I'm finally getting around to finishing off the regular course work for my M.Div!! (yay.... about time!) This includes taking 2.5 courses this fall. So far I feel like they will be worth while and will also help me get back into a routine of spending time with scripture as well as help me write the massive integrative paper I need to get done for my chaplaincy certification (hoping to have that done this January). I am also jumping head long into a 16 month research project offered in partnership through Knox College and St. Joe's Hospital in Hamilton where I've been working for the last 2 years. I am SO excited about this! It's an opportunity to both do the chaplaincy work I love to do, on the units I love being on, with the people I have grown to love, while also researching Chaplains approaches to doing spiritual care in a research project that will hopefully include chaplains from all over the Southern half of Ontario! And I get paid to do it all!!! Today I submitted my project for the first rounds of ethics reviews, and will hopefully here back soon about if I can go ahead as planned, or what changes might need to be made within my project before I go ahead.
Josh and I are also looking forward to returning to the routine of going back to our home church of St. Andrew's in Ancaster, as my placement and any summer pulpit supply I have been engaging in are all wrapped up!
So that's what I'm looking forward to for the next little while. I'll keep you posted on how it's all going!
