The story of our move...

In case you haven't already heard, Josh and I have run into some problems with the purchase of our new house. It was supposed to close on March 24th, but instead of getting a phone call telling us to come pick up our new keys! we get a phone call saying they couldn't close. The seller has insufficient money to pay out her mortgage and hence the bank is not allowing her to sell. So as of the evening on our closing day what we know is :

  1. she doesn't have the money

  2. she's still trying to get the money

  3. if she doesn't get the money the bank will take the house (foreclosure) and there is a change that the bank might sell it to us, but they might also just put it on the market instead

  4. we have our apartment until March 31st and then we're homeless if the seller doesn't come through.
Friday March 25th we get a little more news, the seller is trying (really really hard) to get the money so we agree to extend the closing until March 31st. Today (March 28th) we still don't know if she's going to get the money in time. If she doesn't, we'll be storing all our stuff and moving in with family (thank God for providing us with such wonderfully supportive family and friends who have helped us all along the way). Whether or not we'll ever get the house then is a big question mark. And that's our story so far (very abridged version). Who knew buying a house could get so incredibly complicated.
