A letter I wish I could send to my grade school librarian.

Dear Mrs. Fisher,

I don’t believe I ever truly realized how wonderful the wisdom you passed on to your students truly is. You spent your time in the library, and for only a few weeks of our lives we spent time learning from you the skills of researching. Not only how to use the library system (which back then I thought was the important part), but also how to take notes from sources, how to organize those notes and our own thoughts in relation to them, and then how to turn those notes into an organized and well structured paper. The number of times I have found myself making use of the basic skills you shared with us I can’t even count. There are times when I have forgotten to make use of your wisdom, and I always find myself overwhelmed and frustrated, but then I remember your lessons, and put them into practice, and in no time at all I am flying through yet another paper. I do not think I could have made it through university without your words of wisdom.

Thank you.
