Reflecting on the week

This past week has been quite the week. It began Friday around noon when my Dad called me up asking if Josh and I could give him a ride up to my uncle and aunts for thanksgiving – wow, what a role reversal that was!!! How often is it that your parents call you up needing a ride somewhere?! So anyway, after having dinner with my parents, Josh, my dad, and I headed up to my aunt and uncle’s. It was so nice to be able to get up there, cause it’s been way too long since we were last there, and I was really missing my extended family. So we spend Friday night, Saturday and Sunday morning up north, and I got to see all kinds of family that I hadn’t seen in like forever, and the whether was beautiful! I didn’t want to leave Sunday morning, but Josh and I headed out to go to Josh’s families cottage to spend the rest of Sunday and Monday with his family. It’s so amazing how different Josh’s family and my family are, and still I love them both so much! I honestly think the best part of the weekend was just getting to spend time with family, sure the walks and the fall colours and the food (oh, so much yummy food… and the pies!!!) were all great, but it all paled in comparison to getting to be surrounded by family.

So after a busy, yet super thanksgiving I headed back to school, and to a Greek test on Tuesday morning. Greek is definitely a good way to spoil a good weekend, but the test did go well despite minimal studying. Placement this week (I spend 10 hours every week working with a Chaplain at two Long Term Care Facilities for school) was full of ups and downs as I had the opportunity to really get my hands dirty and do some one-on-one meetings completely on my own. I really love working there, it’s so amazing to see God at work, and to realize just how much I have to learn. Needless to say, God’s been teaching me so much through both school and placement and through interaction with family as well. The importance of resting in God and being grounded in Him, and trusting him especially with my prayer requests. Then there’s small groups as well… so much opportunity to learn with peers about how awesome God really is. Life feels so good!! God is so good!!! I can’t wait to see what’s in store for next week!!!!
